Pizzicato by Heather Burton
Pizzicato 50cm x 120cm Acrylic on canvas
Musicians often become so engrossed in their playing that they become immersed in a sense of calmness and concentration, oblivious to anything and everything else around them. Pizzicato (which means plucking the strings with fingers) aims to capture this sense of focus through the musician’s expression and the stillness of the cello, while the texture and contrast of the background suggests the movement of the world going on around him.
